Chris Jacobs is a clinician-researcher whose work spans artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, and 360-degree film in the context of clinical education. His research centres on how emerging technologies can be designed, evaluated, and scaled to train healthcare professionals more effectively — with a particular focus on consultation skills and communication.

His doctoral thesis at the University of Bath led to the development of the Immersive Technology Evaluation Measure (ITEM), a validated instrument for appraising user experience of immersive technologies in healthcare education. He also developed the MITHE framework using Delphi methodology, designed to be technology-agnostic and applicable across a range of simulation modalities.

As a practising GP and GP Educational Supervisor, Chris brings frontline clinical insight to his research programme. He leads undergraduate medical education research at Great Western Hospital Foundation Trust.

He holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship at King's College London and is accepting doctoral students at the University of Bath.
